One platform for Brandenburg
Across Brandenburg, regional information is often spread between municipal websites, official publications and separate media services. Brandenburg lebt brings current news together in one modern, fast and accessible place.
The platform is still being developed. Initial articles from Cottbus, Beelitz, Guben and Senftenberg already show how reports from different municipalities can become visible together.
Current sources, not invented content
The articles are not freely invented AI texts. They are based on current press releases and other traceable primary sources from municipalities and public institutions.
AI helps structure this information within seconds and turn it into a readable format. Publication, context and quality remain under editorial supervision. The source remains the foundation and must not be distorted during preparation.
Faster without abandoning responsibility
Many established regional services still use workflows that were not designed for immediate digital publication. We are testing a different approach: making current information easier to find while maintaining a transparent process.
Brandenburg lebt does not pretend that independent research has taken place when it has not. The platform makes clear when a press release has been prepared and distinguishes this work from original journalistic investigation.
An experiment in rebuilding regional news
For us, Brandenburg lebt is also a learning environment. We want to understand how technology, AI and editorial responsibility can work together without trading reliability for speed.
The goal is a platform that continuously supplies Brandenburg with clear regional news while remaining open about how each article was created.
I believe journalism will increasingly develop in two directions. On one side is thorough investigative journalism that uncovers and explains wrongdoing. On the other, fast and reliable news journalism is becoming increasingly important: it efficiently verifies information, for example from press releases, presents it clearly and makes it accessible to the public. Brandenburg lebt is where we want to gain experience in this field.
